Technical Services Specialist at Ball Horticultural Co 

Todd is a Technical Services Specialist with Ball Horticultural Company. His formal training in plant nutrition/soil physics was completed at North Carolina State University. He became a professor at Oklahoma State University and then served nearly 10 years in customer technical support and research and development for a leading potting soil & fertilizer manufacturer. For the past five years, Todd’s major role is supporting plug growers and rooting stations for the Ball Seed network.

Nathan Jahnke is a Ph.D. candidate at North Carolina State University studying postharvest handling of cut flowers under the direction of Dr. John Dole. Nathan started inhorticulture with own greenhouse business he and his dad built and operated in West Fargo, ND. His business propelled him to get his Bachelor’s degree in horticulture from North Dakota State University. His love for this industry and the horticulture field is obvious through his diverse experiences as an undergraduate student worker in high value crops and woody ornamentals, internships at Como Park, Zoo, and Conservatory, and Darwin Perennials, and as a HortScholar in 2016. Nathan will graduate this year and is looking forward to a career that will provide him with a close connection to the industry and education.ars, Todd’s major role is supporting plug growers and rooting stations for the Ball Seed network.
